Project 10 - focal lengths and different viewpoints

For this project, I took 2 photographs with the 18 - 270mm Tamron lens, f/22 and ISO400.
1. Photo using a focal length of 270mm (speed 1/200s). The building behind (with the red roof) looks pretty close to the subject building using the long telephoto lens.
2. This photo was taken with a focal length of 18mm (speed 1/400s). It has a wider angle of view than photo 1. From this shot, it is clear that the subject building is far more isolated that was apparent from the long telephoto shot. The red-roof building is a long way back, as is the bush on the right-hand side.
From this exercise, I would say that one should try and move as close to a subject as possible in order to obtain a more 'accurate' perspective.
