Having looked at points and various straight lines, this project requires four photographs with curves.
For the first, I have chosen a shot of part of the ceiling of the new indoor market in Chiclana de la Frontera. The shot was taken with a tripod, under tungsten lighting, using the Tamron 18 - 270 lens @ 46mm, f/6.3, 4 sec shutter speed and ISO 100. I love the succession of curves and the differences in tone caused by the light from the windows at each end of market hall and the different types of lighting used within the building.
and patterns. It was taken, using a tripod, with the same lens as the shot above at f/22, 1/3s shutter speed, ISO 100 @ 84mm.
Next, I have included a photograph of part of modern sculpture by Gunilla Bandolin in the FundaciĆ³n NMAC sculpture park near Vejer de la Frontera. It is called 'Sky's Impression' and
is a series of concentric circles which form steps and the sculpture has an opening at one end to allow water to flow into a small pool at the bottom. The shot was taken in early evening and the shadows cast on the curves by the sun from the right are quite dramatic. For this photo I used my Canon 18 - 55 lens @ 47mm without tripod, f/5.6, 1/3200s shutter speed and ISO 400.
Finally, I took a close-up of a tile used in another sculpture in the park, this by Shen Yuan, called 'Bridge'. The design is full of curves of all sizes and is a beautiful piece of art in itself, irrespective
of the actual piece of sculpture. The photograph was taken at dusk without a tripod, again using the 18 - 55 lens but @50mm, f/11, 1/5s shutter speed and ISO 800.
