Project 3

I took out my new tripod for a walk for the first time today in order to take the photos for Project 3, for which a tripod would be essential. In order to use the tripod, I turned off the camera's image stabiliser, set mirror lock-up, set ISO at 100 and (in the absence at the moment of a cable release) set a delay of 2 seconds (should I have opted for a longer period e.g.10 secs?).

I chose to take the photos at the beachfront as there is a row of almost identical cafes very suitable for the purpose. It was at 0820 hours and it was (unusually) dull and overcast. Using the tripod enabled me to take identical shots although with a different aperture (and, hence, shutter speed). The first photo was at f 3.5 and a shutter speed of 1/80, the second at f 11 and 1/8 and the third at f 22 and 0"5. As for the results, while the first photo (f 3.5) is undoubtably sharper than the third (in particular), it is very difficult to judge the exact 'limits of sharpness'.
